4 Months In

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so excited, happy and in complete awe of what this lifestyle has done to me.

This month can be summarised in two words only: vegan gains.

Vegan Gains.

Guys, I’m telling you, the vegans are onto something here. Being vegan. It’s like stepping into a goldmine full of goodness, greatness, health and vitality. I literally feel like I am leveling up as a human being. I feel like I’m becoming better and stronger.

Let me explain.

So, I decided to go jogging one day. And I jogged. Properly. The whole way. It was only about a kilometer and a half that I jogged and in the grander scheme of things that’s nothing but as a person who does no physical exercise whatsoever except for the occasional jumping on the trampoline for half an hour, this was huge. I have become so much fitter. The last time I could run like that was when I still played netball regularly and I was actually physically active. After I stopped playing netball my fitness naturally deteriorated and the next time I went jogging after months of no exercise I died. I could hardly jog 500m. Since then I made no changes to my physical activity at all yet, after a few more months, I go jogging again and all of a sudden I’m as fit as I was when I was still playing netball, if not fitter. How!? What on earth has changed!? My diet.It can only be the vegan diet. There’s no other explanation.

I cannot explain the science behind how I became fitter just by they way I eat but I’m sure it has to do with the fresh fruit and vegetables that make one feel light and beautiful that I’m eating instead of meat that can make one feel weighed down and immobile. I honestly can’t explain or describe it but it is a magical feeling. Being vegan is amazing.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learnt from this experiment and this month in particular it is that if you treat your body well it will reward you.

So, drink enough water, eat your fruit and veggies, get enough sleep and stop stressing. But most importantly, eat your fruit and veggies. And while you’re at it, just become vegan.

I can’t believe I just told you to go vegan. I’m in too deep.

But I lowkey love it.
